I heard a story in the news not too long ago, but I didn’t think back to it until it came to me in flashback during Valentine’s Day.

An old couple was crossing the train tracks and the lady got her foot stuck in the rails and no matter how much her husband tried to free her he couldn’t. As the train grew closer and the inevitable was coming, he held her in his arms and whispered “goodbye.” 

The train killed them both, and in the report, they speculate that he couldn’t bear to live without her or that he had issues and couldn’t live life alone.

But what I really think was passing through that man mind was:
